Daily Spread Betting Round-up
There was plenty of drama over the sporting weekend and we review the action from the last few days where online betting punters came out in clover.
Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
It was certainly not to Ruben Dias’ taste, but Southampton ground out a valuable point against Manchester City on Saturday. A drab 0-0 on the south coast saw Southampton reach 12 points, eclipsing Derby County’s record low Premier League total of 11 points.
More importantly for football spread betting punters, it was a great day for sellers. With Manchester City expected to punish Southampton, the markets were titled in their favour and a flurry of goals was expected at St Mary’s.
Before the match, the Total Goal Minutes spread betting market was priced at 172-187, but with neither side finding the back of the net, the market settled at zero as sellers landed a maximum win of 172x their stake.
In amongst the weekend trials for the Oaks and the Derby was the Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes at Lingfield, with Generation Game coming home to land the spoils for a repeat of 2024.
Marco Ghiani gave the winner a peach to come from last to first with the market principal Cathedral finishing out of the frame. Cathedral – ridden by Richard Kingscote – was sent off as favourite for the third successive time with a 50-25-10 Race Index spread of 26-29.
However, those horse racing spread betting punters who sided against Cathedral were left with their prayers answered as a fourth-place finish saw the market settle at zero with sellers winning 26x their stake.
With the IPL on an enforced break due to the political situation on the Subcontinent, the County Championship took centre stage over the weekend and there was a mammoth win in Division 2.
Glamorgan travelled to Canterbury to face Kent marooned to the bottom of the table, but the Welsh side were imperious in their first innings which saw them record declare on 549-9. Ben Kellaway was 181 not-out in an innings which saw 21 boundaries scored.
From there, it was always going to be a tall order for Kent, but they will have been disappointed to post just 212 in reply. Before play, the 1st Innings Supremacy spread was 35-55 in Kent’s favour, but with Glamorgan recording a total 337 runs higher, the spread settled at -337.
Cricket spread betting punters who sided with the Welsh outfit were rewarded with a whopping win of 372x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
