CRICKET – ENGLAND v INDIA 5^TH TEST

The fifth and final Test between England and India this summer gets underway at The Oval on Thursday as a brutal series draws to a close.

Every Test has gone into a fifth day, and you would expect this week’s to follow suit with tired bodies and tired minds coming back to the wicket once more. India escaped from Old Trafford with a draw over the weekend and a repeat result in South London can be backed at 21/10 with an India win at 12/5. Much of the Indian hopes will rest on the fitness of two men. If Jasprit Bumrah can be coaxed out again, it will be huge boost to the tourists. They will also be looking at the fitness of Ben Stokes who toiled towards the latter stages of the match in Manchester and England’s attack looked toothless without their talisman.

RACING – GALWAY AND GOODWOOD

One of the highlights of the horse racing year is upon us, with festivals taking place either side of the Irish Sea at both Goodwood and Galway.

The Goodwood Cup, Sussex Stakes, and Nassau Stakes are the pick of the action on the Sussex Downs over the next few days with the Stewards’ Cup on Saturday one of the most prestigious handicaps of the season.

For horse racing spread betting punters over in Ireland, the action focuses on the Galway Plate and Galway Hurdle which are sure to be fiercely contested races.

FOOTBALL – LEAGUE 1 AND 2

After a long hiatus, the domestic football season gets underway this weekend with Luton hosting Wimbledon in the opening match of the League 1 campaign. The Hatters are the 27/10 favourites to take the title in the third tier, with Huddersfield priced at 11/2 and Stockport at 15/2. Relegated duo Cardiff and Plymouth are 8/1 and 9/1 respectively to bounce back in the best possible style.

In League 2, Barnet’s long trip to Fleetwood is the televised clash this weekend, but it is MK Dons who have been backed to be the best of the basement. The Dons have a points spread of 78.5-80.5 and you can buy or sell Chesterfield’s final total at 76.5-78.5.

Beaten League 2 Play-Off finalists Walsall finished last campaign on 77 points and with the Saddlers available to trade at 65.5-67.5, would you buy or sell?
