France were crowned 2025 champions after winning four of their five games. England and Ireland also both won four games, but France took bonus points from all five of their fixtures, giving them a total of 21 points, one more than England’s 20 in second place. Wales came last, suffering the Wooden Spoon for the second year in a row. Ireland came 3rd, Scotland 4th, and Italy 5th.
France are favourites to retain their Six Nations crown, with much of last year’s star-studded team returning for the 2026 campaign. Spreadex’s Outright Market currently has them odds on to win the tournament, at 8/13 to claim back-to-back titles.
England and Ireland are also both expected to challenge fiercely, with both sides currently sat at 4/1 to win the tournament. Scotland have the next shortest odds. They sit at 10/1 to win what would be their first ever Six Nations title.
Wales and Italy are slightly longer shots, at 80/1 and 100/1 respectively, with both sides having struggled in the 2025 edition. We will have more markets closer to the tournament, including individual game markets and spread betting markets.

France’s star man Antoine Dupont has been widely considered to be the best player in the world for a number of years now. The scrum half missed the end of France’s 2025 campaign after suffering an ACL injury during their game against Ireland, but is expected to be back fit for the 2026 tournament.
Scotland’s mercurial skipper Finn Russell will also be must-watch viewing. Whether it’s with club side Bath, Scotland or the British & Irish Lions, Russell has been one of the best fly-halves in the world in recent years. Can he help guide Scotland to a maiden Six Nations victory?
Wales fans haven’t had much to cheer about as of late, but the return of one of their most electric talents is sure to help. Louis Rees-Zammit has spent the last two years pursuing a career in the NFL, but in July 2025 the former Wales international announced he would be returning to rugby union. His strong start to club life as a Bristol Bear has Wales fans hoping he can bring the same form to the international stage once again.
Other stars include Ireland’s dynamic hooker, Dan Sheehan, who leads a formidable forward pack, England’s talismanic captain Maro Itoje, and the electric Ange Capuozzo, who has provided many of Italian rugby’s greatest moments in recent years.
All 15 games will be shown live on BBC and ITV in the UK. The official split of individual games is yet to be announced.
