Arsenal made a bold statement in the summer transfer window, investing nearly £250 million in top-tier talent, including Viktor Gyökeres, Martín Zubimendi, and Eberechi Eze. That outlay is already bearing fruit in the early stages of the 2025/26 season, with the Gunners sitting top of the Premier League with 16 points from seven games, and boasting a perfect record in the Champions League.
A major factor behind Arsenal’s strong European form has been their impressive squad depth, which has allowed Mikel Arteta to rotate effectively. The likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have stepped up with crucial goals against Athletic Bilbao and Olympiakos, highlighting the strength in depth at Arteta’s disposal.
However, their toughest test yet lies ahead as they prepare to host Diego Simeone’s disciplined Atlético Madrid side. Can Arsenal maintain their flawless Champions League start against such a resolute opponent on Tuesday night?
WIN: Arsenal 2-0 West Ham. Saturday 4th October 2025.WIN: Arsenal 2-0 Olympiakos. Wednesday 1st October 2025.WIN: Newcastle 1-2 Arsenal. Sunday 28th September 2025.WIN: Port Vale 0-2 Arsenal. Wednesday 24th September 2025.
Atletico Madrid’s start to the season has been somewhat inconsistent. Los Colchoneros currently sit fifth in La Liga, having won three matches, drawn four, and lost one. In the Champions League, they've made a solid, if unspectacular, start, collecting three points from their opening two group-stage games.
Their European campaign began with a dramatic trip to Liverpool, where Atletico came from two goals down to draw level, only to concede a late winner in the dying moments of the match. They bounced back emphatically in their second outing, thrashing Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 at home, with five different players finding the back of the net.

Our football spread betting prices have hosts Arsenal as the favourites with a Goal Supremacy quote of Arsenal/Atletico Madrid 0.9 – 1.1. This means a 'buy' bet at 1.1 would need a Arsenal two goal win to start turning a profit (e.g. two goal win would win 0.9x your stake, three goal win would win 1.9x your stake etc.).
A 0.9 'sell' bet would need either a draw or Atletico Madrid win to turn a profit (e.g. draw would win 0.9x your stake, one goal Atletico Madrid win 1.9x your stake etc.).
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 2.65 – 2.85. So a 2.85 'buy' bet would need at least three goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a ‘2.65’ sell bet would need two goals or less to be scored in the match to turn a profit.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 2.85 'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 2.85x your stake if the match ended 0-0. In the 1.1 'buy' Supremacy bet example above, if the game ended a draw the bet would lose 1.1x your stake. If Atletico Madrid won by one goal then it would lose 2.1x your stake etc. And in the 0.9 'sell' Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.1x your stake on a 1-0 Arsenal win, 1.1x your stake on a 2-0 Arsenal win etc.

Both teams made fast starts in their most recent Champions League matches. Arsenal struck first in the 12th minute, while Atletico Madrid opened the scoring even earlier, finding the net in the 4th minute. The current spread for the timing of the First Match Goal is set at 35–38 minutes. So, if you were to ‘sell’ and the first goal came in the 12th minute, you'd make a return of 23x your stake. If the opening goal was scored as early as the 4th minute, your return would rise to 31x your stake.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. So for example if the game ended 0-0, a ‘sell’ at 35 would lose 55x times your stake.
